I hope that you noticed that the democrats pushed by their progressive base won overwhelmingly the presidential election, …and they did it with a black presidential candidate!
This to my mind signifies an important leap forward by the american people. Changes from the past on many fronts are taking place. Changes that are driving crazy the stuck in the past right wing ideologues. They see their world collapsing around them and they are going crazy and acting crazy. They are becoming a very big joke in the eyes of our current generation.
Don’t take the ‘reactionary right wingers’ loud screaming as a sign as being strong. It is a sign of being desperate.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. A system that is thoroughly corrupt is cracking and the people within that corrupt system is beginning to crack it’s foundation, because it is the only thing left to do.
Hmm, let’s see — President Bush won the election by 51% of the popular vote, and he “barely eked out the win” and had no mandate; but Barack Obama won the election by 52% of the popular vote, and he “won overwhelmingly the presidential election.” Interesting view, there.
I did notice alot of things… I noticed people both on the Left and on the Right were fed UP with George W Bush. Oh yes, they were tired of his progressive ideas. They were tired of him growing the deficit and using the executive branch in ways that were never meant to be. They were growing weary of the war. They were tired of big oil raking in so much profit bouyed by Big Government policies. They were tired of the non free market approach.
I will ignore your black president comment because I find it ironic that the so call “enlightened liberal left” are the biggest racists in the world. They are always bringing up race… this is racist that is racist… Barbara Boxer got called on the carpet for this very thing by Henry Alford… check it out on You Tube… It is no secret among the informed that the Liberal Left are oppressors of the black community. Henry Alford knows it and so does anyone who really pays attention.
Now what changes are you referring to? I like how the Liberal Left likes to use ambiguous statements and buzz words. Well… lets talk about the changes our current congress and the President has enacted:
1. The deficit. During the campaign BO and co. complained over and over again about the deficit. What did he do once he got into office? Grew the deficit exponentially, all under the guise of getting out of debt by spending money! HAH.
2. BO and co. complained the GWB used the executive office too aggressively. Too many executive orders… What has B.O. done? The EXACT same thing.
3. The War… BO promised change… only thing different are the words he uses… the facts are we have MORE troops in Afgan and our troops in Iraq now have their hands tied.
4. Transparency… what went on with the meeting in Russia? What happened with Billy in N. Korea? What happened with the opening up of meetings to the public? No transparency JUST AS THERE WAS NONE WITH GWB.
5. Lobbyists… they were suppose to be non existent… they are everywhere.
I could go on and on… All I am asking of you Mr. Despicable is that you open up your eyes and see that there is very LITTLE difference between GOP and DEMS… and that includes BO. Stop being a sheeple. Realize that this govt is trying to oppress you as much as it is oppressing me.
Lastly… Our country has the most solid foundation in History. It is called the US Constitution. We are still the freest people in the world… don’t be one of the people who tries to give that away in hopes that a big govt can take care of all your needs… Remember a govt that is powerful enough to give you everything you want is powerful enough to take everything you have.
Capitalism was born out of the ashes of a system called “FEUDALISM” Capitalism was a social advance over feudalism because it freed the serfs and the common man to break away from the landed aristocracy. Those that believed they were lords and blue bloods ordained by God to rule over the earth and and those that they considered less than human than they. They looked down on the mass of people that did not own private property.
The struggle of the common man did not stop with the birth of our nation. There were those at the founding of our nation that did not want to educate in public schools those that were not of the propertied class. These so called gentlemen attempted to keep people without considerable property from voting. During the rise of industrial revolution the working conditions of workers were so bad that in the Lincoln, Douglas debates the argument was made of “what was worse, ” chattel slavery or wage slavery.”
Workers and the common man fought back against against those that regarded themselves as “the privileged class.” They formed labor unions and joined together for political action.
Capitalists from the earliest time of our history to the present time were contemptuous of the general public and our environment. When they had a chance to make a large profit they would shout “FULL SPEED AHEAD AND the public be damned!”
It became apparent that only if the working class, united together and politically struggled together against the abuses of the privileged class would the common worker have a decent life.
The struggle for socialism is a part of that struggle of the common man to end exploitation of man by man.
For over 100 years their has been an effort to put the means of production into the hands of the common man and to share the wealth with the entire community. The prevailing conditions over the years had made this national transformation impossible to succeed. But when the conditions are all in place this revolutionary change will take place because it will be the only possible thing to do.
